How to Use Sample Sequencer

A step-by-step guide to making drum patterns with Sample Sequencer — a free online drum machine that runs in your browser.

  1. In the top controls of the sampler, select a drum hit from the library, upload a sound from your computer, or record a new sound using a microphone. Sample Sequencer sampler controls showing load, upload, and record buttons
  2. Optionally trim the audio clip by clicking and dragging over the sound wave. Click the selection to play the trimmed clip. Audio waveform with a region selected for trimming

  4. To schedule the sample for playback, send the sample to the sequencer by clicking the 'Sequence' button. Sequence as many samples as you like. Sequencer grid with a sample loaded into a 16-step row
  5. For quick creation of drum beats, load an entire kit from the library. Sequencer with a full drum kit loaded across multiple sample rows
  6. There are four patterns in the sequencer. When there are notes in the patterns they will play in order. Pattern selector buttons numbered 1 through 4 Sequencer playing through four patterns in order
